I was born in Hamburg, Germany and grew up close by in a small town named Buchholz, where my parents and my older brother still live. I graduated from Gymnasium am Kattenberge with my Fachabitur. Soon after I did an Internship in an architecture office in Buchholz and then graduated with an architecture degree in Buxtehude, Germany. Between 1998-2000 I worked as an architect in Harburg, Germany. Throughout my childhood, teenager years and adulthood I took many art, painting and craft lessons. My husband, whom I married in Germany, is from San Diego. Our two older children Nick and Mara were born in Germany (2000, 2002). We moved to sunny San Diego in 2003. During 2003-2005, I worked at the then Die Rasselbande Co-op as an assistant teacher. Since 2006 I have been doing murals, facepainting and worked as a German teacher for Berlitz. Our little girl Mia was born here in San Diego (2008). Since March of 2011 I came back to Die Rasselbande as an assistant teacher and the same year in October I became the art teacher for the pre-K classes. Doing arts and crafts with the children is a great source of fun and joy for me.
