Kerstin Formella ~ Lead Teacher

I was born and raised in Germany.  I have a Master's Degree in Education from Germany with major in Special education, and 19 years of experience working with children.  This includes organizing playgroups for children from 6 month until 5 years, and I also worked in a shelter managing a mother-child-group and worked for CPS.

For the last five years I've lived in El Paso, TX volunteering with my  therapy dog at the El Paso Children’s Hospital at the cancer floor and serving as a CASA (court appointed special advocate) representing the best interests of abused and neglected children in the juvenile court system.

I have  two daughters who are now adults and study in Germany. I love working with children and I'm convinced that every single being should be treated with respect and kindness and without judgment. In my free time I enjoy learning to play the guitar and being creative.

Katrin Rodriguez - Assistant Teacher

I was born and raised in a town called Bernkastel-Kues, Germany. I lived there for 25 years. I worked for the German Red Cross in a residential home for primarily mentally and educationally handicapped adults. In 2008, I moved to sunny California, San Diego, thanks to my wonderful husband, who is in the U.S. Air Force.

Early in 2009, I started working at a daycare with children ages 6 weeks to 8 years old. I enjoyed and loved it so much that I started looking for something similar in the German language. In September 2009, I started working with Die Rasselbande Preschool and I still love it as much as on my first day.

I am honored to be a part of the Rasselbande Preschool.

In my spare time I love the outdoors, I love to bake and cook, I enjoy friends and family, crafts, puzzles and music.
